On 30 June 2022, local councilors in Timișoara unanimously approved the draft decision on approving the Strategy “Smart City and digital transformation Timișoara 2022-2027”, the document that provides steps by which Timișoara can align with smart cities around the world and with the help of which can benefit from European funds for digitization.
The strategy adopted revolves around several main points: digital transformation, smart city, energy efficiency, sustainability or connectivity, the development of the strategy itself and its implementation. The document provides guidance both for public services, which should be 100% online, to optimize resources and have professionals, and for the private sector, which should increasingly use state-of-the-art technologies.
