Continuing the tradition established last year, Romania was once again represented with a national pavilion at Web Summit Lisbon, a prestigious event where a global community of entrepreneurs, leaders, and investors gathers to explore and discuss trends shaping the future of technology.
The 2024 edition of Web Summit, held from November 11 to 14, attracted 71,528 participants from 153 countries, 3,050 exhibiting companies, 1,066 investors, 2,005 media representatives, 953 speakers, and 62 trade delegations from 36 countries, with Germany and Brazil being the best-represented. This year’s edition was sold out, with all seats filled, and Artificial Intelligence emerged as the dominant industry.
Web Summit stands out as one of the most significant global technology conference series, with its largest and most renowned event held in Lisbon, Portugal. However, Web Summit is far from an ordinary gathering—it is a true tech extravaganza, akin to a festival dedicated to the latest technological advancements. On the sidelines of the Web Summit event, a parallel event was organized at the Romanian Embassy in Portugal, aimed at providing Romanian companies with the opportunity to gain useful information about the Portuguese market.
