A diverse range of Romanian businesses, from successful start-ups to established industry leaders, participated in the highly anticipated “GITEX GLOBAL 2024,” one of the largest and most influential technology events in the world, held from October 14-18, 2024, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The 44th edition of GITEX Global brought together over 6.500 exhibitors, 1.800 start-ups, 200.000 visitors, 1.200 investors, and government representatives from over 180 countries – the largest international participation ever recorded at GITEX GLOBAL – including companies, experts, investors, start-ups, the academic community, researchers, and the entire global tech ecosystem.
The five-day GITEX event was held with great fanfare, attracting technology companies from around the world to the emirate city. Each day of the event focused on different themes – investment, cybersecurity, data centers, futuristic tech, and AI, reflecting the central pillars of the digital economy.
The event’s theme, “Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy“, not only set new standards in innovation and business opportunities but also reinforced the crucial role of the event in shaping a technological landscape increasingly influenced by AI adoption.
As Romania plays an increasingly significant role on the global tech scene, the success achieved by the Romanian delegation at GITEX Global Dubai 2024 reflects the country’s commitment to technological progress and its ambition to become a leader in the international digital economy.

The experience of Romanian companies has enabled them to develop innovative solutions and services aligned with the latest trends, such as cloud computing and data center solutions, all-in-one mail server, waste management solutions, production and logistics tracking, digital ERP, automation through Robotic Process Automation (RPA) with AI, platforms for communication and educational management, custom software development, AI-based applications, imaging and object recognition solutions, eSIM virtual card management, mobile applications for health monitoring through wearable devices, call center services, digital identity management solutions, and many more.
At the event, Romanian companies had the opportunity to participate in major discussions, forging important connections with leaders from the global tech industry, investors, and clients. These relationships are expected to contribute to the expansion of Romanian businesses in international markets.
After this record edition, GITEX Europe Berlin will take place from May 21-23, 2025, marking the second international expansion of the powerful GITEX brand, where hundreds of exhibitors are expected to showcase the latest developments from various tech sectors.
