The representatives of Timișoara City Hall want a digital model of the city, called “Digital Twin”, a modern tool for substantiating decisions for the city, due to the data it collects and the simulations it can do. The concept of “digital model” refers to the ability to virtually represent and optimize a product or process in real life. This digital tool should encompass all the data of a city, to help substantiate the decisions taken by the administration.
According to PMT, “the ultimate goal will be the integration of all types of existing data in the city: administration data, GIS data, the sensor system that will be located in the city. The databases available to other private or civic operators will also be integrated, after these data are standardized and interoperable”.
