Bucharest, Ilfov and Timiș are in the top of the most powerful counties in Romania, according to the 2019 turnover of registered companies. Bucharest had a turnover of 570.8 billion lei in 2019, being on the first place and followed by Ilfov, with 111.8 billion lei and Timiș, with 67.2 billion lei.
Regarding the activity sectors, Commerce predominates in almost all Romanian counties, but also Construction, Manufacturing and IT&C occupy leading positions.
IT&C is becoming more and more active, both in the already established counties, which are in 1st and 2nd place: Bucharest (11.3 thousand companies and a turnover of 44 billion lei) and Cluj (2.9 thousand companies and a turnover of 5.7 billion lei), as well as in Timiș (1.3 thousand companies and a turnover of 2.4 billion lei), Iasi (1.3 thousand companies and a turnover of 1.8 billion lei) and Ilfov (1.7 thousand companies and a turnover of 992.8 million lei), the occupants of places 3, 4 and 5.
