Timisoara Polytechnic University has been named Romania’s top-ranked university in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, placing 357th worldwide in the 2026 Research.com rankings.
The ranking highlights UPT’s growing impact in electronics, electrical engineering, automation, AI, and robotics.
The ranking reflects the work of three UPT researchers featured among the leading academics in the field: Radu-Emil Precup, Ion Boldea, and Ștefan Preitl. Together, they account for a D-index of 180 and more than 1,100 publications.
Notably, half of the Romanian researchers featured in the ranking are from UPT, with Radu-Emil Precup and Ion Boldea taking the top two spots nationally.
For its 2026 edition, Research.com reviewed nearly 280,000 researcher profiles worldwide, highlighting the impact of research across major scientific fields.
