Over the years, Romania has strengthened its position as a leader in the tech market, participating for the tenth time with a national pavilion at the world’s most influential connectivity event, MWC Barcelona, held from March 3 to 6, 2025.
Under the event theme “Converge. Connect. Create.”, this year’s edition highlighted technological and digital changes, addressing sub-themes such as “Our Digital DNA“, “Game Changers“, “Enterprise Reinvited“, “Connect X“, “5G Inside“, and “AI“. Artificial Intelligence was undoubtedly the buzzword on the lips of the participants.
The 2025 edition of MWC Barcelona welcomed 109,000 participants from 205 countries, over 2,900 exhibitors, sponsors, and partners, 1,200 speakers and thought leaders, and more than 2,900 journalists and industry analysts from around the world. The GSMA Ministerial Program brought together 188 delegations from 148 countries and 40 intergovernmental organizations, 66 ministers, and 111 heads of regulatory authorities. 4YFN hosted over 1,000 exhibiting startups, nearly 380 speakers, and more than 900 investors with collective funds totaling 60 billion euros.
A key factor in its success and identity, MWC25 Barcelona offers unique networking experiences and opportunities, an exceptional combination of exhibition, conference, the 4YFN startup platform, and the largest gathering of leaders supporting the digital economy. MWC and 4YFN anticipate the future four years ahead and represent the best opportunity to explore innovations and shape the future. As every year, ARIES-TM supported 21 Romanian companies in presenting their innovations at the national pavilion at MWC, under the motto “romaniaIT. The program of the Romania stand included not only the presentation and promotion of the portfolio of products and technological solutions but also working meetings, discussions, and visits from the Consulate General of Romania in Barcelona, the Consulate General of the Republic of Moldova in Barcelona, and the Honorary Consulate of Romania in the Balearic Islands.
