From March 2 to 5, 2026, ARIES-TM (Romanian Association for Electronics and Software Industry, Timișoara branch) will lead Romania’s 11th participation at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona, the world’s largest and most influential event for connectivity and mobile technologies. The national pavilion, a long-standing initiative by ARIES-TM and supported by ARICE (Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade), will showcase Romanian innovation and technology on the global stage.
The 2026 edition of MWC Barcelona marks 20 years of the event and will feature the official theme, “The IQ Era,” spotlighting how connectivity and artificial intelligence will shape the next decade of digital transformation. MWC26 is organized around six key themes – AI 4 Enterprise, AI Nexus, ConnectAI, Game Changers, Intelligent Infrastructure, and Tech4All – reflecting the industry’s global priorities: operational intelligence, ethical inclusion, network evolution, and positive societal impact.
A key highlight of MWC 2026 is the focus on space technologies and satellite communications. For the first time, these sectors will have dedicated exhibition zones – New Frontiers and Airport of the Future – showing how connectivity is extending beyond terrestrial limits and reshaping global infrastructure.
