On September 30, 2025, Timi\u0219oara welcomed the inaugural Cities Summit<\/a>, an international event that brought together local leaders, EU officials, ambassadors, and analysts from over 15 countries to discuss EU enlargement, security, and prosperity<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

A closed session for mayors from EU member states and candidate countries took place during the summit, concluding with a joint declaration<\/strong> promoting cooperation among European cities.<\/p>\n\n

At the Timi\u0219oara Cities Summit<\/strong>, a roundtable<\/strong> was held featuring the President of Romania, Nicu\u0219or Dan<\/strong>, along with leading representatives from the local business and innovation sectors. The discussions aimed to strengthen partnerships that support innovation, investment, and the city\u2019s economic development.<\/p>\n\n

Daniel Giurea,<\/strong> President of ARIES-TM<\/strong>, was also among the participants and highlighted the importance of helping companies expand internationally<\/strong> and promote exports<\/strong> in the technology sector. He emphasized the need to actively support companies entering global markets and to boost the visibility of the local IT industry.<\/p>\n\n

President Nicu\u0219or Dan announced that he will keep supporting initiatives and associations that play a role in Romania\u2019s economic and innovative progress.<\/p>\n\n

The conversations emphasized the dynamic and diverse nature of the local economy<\/strong>, driven by innovation<\/strong>, research<\/strong>, and entrepreneurship<\/strong>. Attendees pointed out the importance of reducing bureaucratic hurdles<\/strong>, enhancing partnerships<\/strong> among authorities, industry, and academia, and creating an ambitious national strategy<\/strong> in critical fields including AI, health, education, and digital transformation.<\/p>\n\n

Through this summit, Timi\u0219oara reaffirms its position as a leader in innovation and development<\/strong>, demonstrating that effective public policies with real impact require cooperation and a common vision.<\/p>\n\n
