Representing a key economic sector of Timi\u0219oara, the automotive industry<\/strong> generates over 2 billion euros<\/strong> annually and supports more than 20,000 jobs<\/strong>, including 2,000 in research and innovation<\/strong>. To remain competitive in the face of global challenges and supply chain disruptions, a new adaptation strategy is needed.<\/p>\n\n

In this context, the Politehnica University of Timi\u0219oara initiated the organization of the first meeting of all faculties of automation and computer science in the country<\/strong>, bringing together industry leaders, local authorities, and academic institutions to establish common development directions. This initiative aims to unite efforts and align strategies to ensure the sustainable development of the field.<\/p>\n\n

The event was attended by representatives from the faculties of Automation and Computer Science at the Politehnica University of Bucharest<\/em>, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca<\/em>, the University of Craiova<\/em>, the Dun\u0103rea de Jos University of Gala\u021bi<\/em>, the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Ia\u0219i<\/em>, the University of Oradea<\/em>, the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu<\/em>, the \u0218tefan cel Mare University of Suceava<\/em>, and the Politehnica University of Timi\u0219oara<\/em>. Additionally, the Mayor of Timi\u0219oara, Dominic Fritz, the Vice President of the Timi\u0219 County Council, Alexandru Adrian Iovescu, and the General Director of ADR Vest, Sorin Maxim, also participated.<\/p>\n\n

During the discussions with representatives from pre-university education, the importance of supporting high schools and computer science classes<\/strong> by specialized faculties was highlighted. Additionally, representatives from major companies in Timi\u0219oara, present at the meeting, provided essential feedback<\/strong> for the faculties from the perspective of the labor market.<\/p>\n\n

Although still in the early stages, the discussions have already outlined a series of conclusions and action directions<\/strong> for the future:<\/p>\n\n

\u27a1 The semi-annual organization of meetings to monitor progress and adjust strategies.<\/p>\n\n

\u27a1 The active involvement of the County School Inspectorate and other regional stakeholders in future discussions.<\/p>\n\n

\u27a1 The implementation of a common platform to support collaboration in research and innovation.<\/p>\n\n

\u27a1 Encouraging collaboration between automotive corporations and local businesses to strengthen supply chains and support entrepreneurial initiatives.<\/p>\n\n
